Glitch-Step covers a lot of ground in short order. Starting with 'Black History Century', monumental African American figures speak before a backdrop of electronica, then with 'Supernova', glitches are literally thrown around like fireballs, once things start heating up. From there, 'This Is Not a Test' takes us on an interstellar journey past desert worlds, fusing spacey synths with electric guitars. After that, the sun slowly glides across 'The Sundial' in a sedated, jazz-fused jam. The EP closes out with 'The Wind in the Willows', where Quinn Mannequin literally howls with the wind, his heavy blues-rock axe cutting through the haunted forest with unreal power. This album is highly experimental, and definitely worth a listen if you want to hear another side to the Sensitive Mannequins. Cover art by Maria Ponomarenko of Ukraine.
