The Mannequin Factory is a virtual loft where we hem out our fashion ideas and music. We also use this space to collect the most attractive or interesting mannequins for our videos and displays. Synthwave has a strong visual element which in our view is just as important as the music in getting concepts across, and while these concepts can be deliberately surreal, putting them in visual context is a significant half of what we do. Plainclothes/garage bands are fine, but our philosophy is that you should make the most of your delivery - and that includes a visual element, which is not being exploited by most bands. People are coming to see you, as well, so why not take better advantage of that dimension? The same goes for what you wear, and this is what drives us as a fashion label. In addition to promoting musicianship, we seek to make available a wide variety of unique-looking clothes and accessories that make a fresh impact on your daily life. Below we'll run by a small sample of our various lines to give you an idea of what they look like and where some of the concepts originated from. Sometimes a song, sometimes a place, or a tenet of history will inspire a new visual form. Starting with our Icon line, based on the 'SM' logo of a mannequin's bust with a significant heart at center, the stark iconography continues with The Passion. Working from our song of that same name, the most iconic symbol of all time literally bleeds with intensity.
